The Parker Experience
The Parker Experience is a groove-centered ensemble who put genre definitions to the side in the pursuit of making music that, above all else, sounds great. With a core of Ron E. Parker (piano, vocals), and his sons Ryan Parker (trombone, arranger, producer) and Josh Parker (drums), the Parker Experience collaborates with talented up-and-coming musicians to combine their unique musical personalities and influences of Soul, Rhythm & Blues, Bebop and Post-Bop, Gospel, and Progressive Rock in ways that holds dearly the essences of each while first and foremost making audiences bob their heads, tap their feet, and get up and dance.

The music began when a young Ron – who was at that point working hard as an aspiring pianist – witnessed a performance of the then-96-year-old pianist Eubie Blake. “That instance,” Ron says, “I decided that I wanted to be doing whatever I do at 96 just like Eubie.”
Ryan and Josh Parker both began their musical journeys similarly – playing drums in churches throughout South Dakota with their father. Josh has kept at it ever since, diversifying his instrument palette to include congas and timbales, which he studied under José Aponte. Ryan decided in eighth grade after he wanted to be a professional trombonist. Living up to his aspirations, Ryan attended the University of North Texas and performs across America.
Now, the Parkers have joined keys, sticks, and slide to create a family band. Released in Fall 2023, MOVE! is a hard-grooving album of original music that is drenched in soul, and wrapped in Ryan’s fresh arranging style. TPE showcases each of their strengths as musicians, poets, and entertainers who collaborate with talented, up-and-coming musicians who know how to jam out and give an audience a true experience.
